Third Term Newsletters 2017

Dear Parents/Guardians

Welcome back to all parents, learners and teachers of Khanyisile Primary School. We trust you all had a restful holiday.

The final term has arrived and it is during this term that the school expects parents, teachers and learners to give their full cooperation and commitment towards their studies in order to be success at the end of the year.

School Times

As usual school commences at 7:30 am promptly for everyone. Grades 00 and 0 dismiss at 12 noon every day. Grades 1 - 7 dismiss at 2pm from Monday to Thursday, and on Friday school dismisses at 1pm. We plead with parents to adhere to the time stipulated, especially in the afternoons.

Extra Lessons

Extra lessons will commence on the 18th September 2017 for all the learners who need extra attention. Those learners will dismiss at 3pm Monday to Thursday. Extra lessons are compulsory for the Grade Sevens. They will all dismiss at 3pm, in preparation for their final SPC Examination. Please pack extra lunch and water for the learners and make proper transport arrangements for these learners, as we do not want to see stranded learners after 3pm.

Grade Seven

The Grade Seven Annual Parents’ meeting is scheduled for the 20th September 2017at 6pm.  Grade Seven are urged to complete their Practical Arts Paper One Projects, as it is due on the 18th October 2017 for moderation before it can be submitted to the Exams Council. Mock examination will commence on the 2nd October 2017and the final examination on the 6th November 2017.We urged all Grade Sevens to prepare well in advance as the final examination is already upon us. Our advice to all the learners is to be consistent in their daily studies and aim to achieve a merit in the final examination.

We are rooting for our three learners who made it to the Spelling Bee Nationals which is on the 28th of September 2017.

To the learners in all the other grades you are encouraged and urged to give your best throughout the term, as Continuous Assessment results, as well as all projects will be taken into consideration for the final examination and not the final only. Learners should not absent themselves during class tests.

The Grade Sevens are also writing E -learner online examination and we ask grade sevens not to absent themselves on the examination dates.

We would like congratulate all the athletes were performed well and made K.P.S. proud in the Cross Country competition in August 2017.

Interviews of prospective learners for 2018 is ongoing, however spaces are limited. Please enquire at the office. Correct ages of learners are of paramount importance.

All examination time tables for each grade will be issued in due course.

Third Term School uniform

Girls wear the dress on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and the skorts and golf shirts on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Boys wear their shorts every day.  All learners may wear their navy blue jerseys on cold days.

Swimming is compulsory for all learners. The swimming costume, swimming trunks and swimming caps are available in the office. School bags, sun hats lunch cooler bags and all size uniform are available at the office.

Learners should make use of the donated string bags to carry their costumes and small hand towel as well as takkies.

Extra swimming with Reggie is starting next week from 2pm to 3pm.

School Fees

School fees are due for the third term with immediate effect.

Parents are reminded that at least half of the school fees should have been paid by now if the child has to be at school. Learners without this half payment will not be allowed into class. Cut - off date for all school fees payment is at 31st October 2017.

School Trips

The school would like to thank all the parents who could afford to send their kids across the border. The Grade Fours will be going to Badplass in October. All the preparations are underway.

Sponsored Walk Appreciations

Khanyisile School would like to send a very big thank you to all the companies that took their time in sponsoring this big annual fundraiser. These companies are Inyatsi, FNB, The George Hotel, Nkonyeni Estates, just to mention some of them. The school is sending its heartfelt appreciation for the current help as well as the foreseeable future. Our special thanks also go to our entire parent and teacher body for the attendance and sponsoring the children.
